Directions to the Durant Center and Jefferson-Houston School

1605 and 1501 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA
METRO: Blue or Yellow line to King Street/Masonic Temple stop.

To walk from the metro

Turn LEFT when you exit the station.
Cross King and Commonwealth.
Continue following the Metro embankment.
When the street curves right, follow it; it's Cameron.
Go two blocks, passing the Durant Center.
The school is on your LEFT.

From the Washington Beltway (I95/I495):

Take EXIT 177B, U.S. 1 NORTH toward Alexandria/Mt. Vernon Highway/Old Town.
The road divides, becomes one way.
Cross King Street and turn LEFT on Cameron.
The school is 5 blocks down on your RIGHT.
Follow local directions.

Alternate route from the Washington Beltway (I95/I495):

Take exit 176B, Telegraph Road NORTH towards Alexandria.
Take the second RIGHT to go EAST onto Duke Street (VA-236)
Turn LEFT at Peyton.
Turn LEFT again onto Cameron, and park immediately.
Do not park on the side streets.
Follow local directions.

From Washington, D. C.

Cross the 14th Street Bridge.
Exit onto Jefferson Davis Highway/Route 1 SOUTH.
Go about three miles.
Cross Queen and turn RIGHT on Cameron.
Go four blocks to the school on your RIGHT.
Follow local directions.

City streets from Arlington, Falls Church, etc:

Route 7 is direct but has lots of lights;

follow it as it becomes King Street and goes into Old Town.
Go past the Masonic Temple and under the Metro tracks.
Turn LEFT at Peyton.
Turn LEFT again onto Cameron, and park immediately.
Do not park on the side streets.
Follow local directions.

Glebe Road works pretty well;

take it all the way to Route 1 SOUTH (Jefferson Davis Highway).
Cross Queen and turn RIGHT on Cameron.
Go four blocks to the school on your RIGHT.
Follow local directions.

George Mason is twisty but pleasant.

It becomes Seminary, then Janney's Lane, and ends on King Street just before you reach Old Town.
Turn right on King.
