The Music Makars are musicians dedicated to the performance of Scottish dance music. Inspired by the traditional fiddle and accordion dance bands of Scotland, the Makars have built a world-wide reputation in Scottish dance circles for bringing their own arrangements to this evocative and transformative music. Their first of four compact discs was released in 1995.

The Northern Virginia dance will feature four of the five Music Makars, including Etienne Ozorak on piano accordion, Fred Mamula on violin, Elizabeth Weiss Ozorak on piano, and Nicholas Ozorak on bass. The group is blazing a unique sound, drawing strongly on their experience of dancing to the legendary Stan Hamilton Band in the mid 1970s and Etienne’s tenure with the Toronto-based Scottish Accent.
